Character Name: Lucas Richard Williams
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Species: Human
Coven/Pack/Nomad: N/A
Diet: Hamburgers (human food)
Hair: Dark brown; normally, it's a bit fixed and a bit shaggy
Eyes: Blue
Weight: 165 lbs.
Height: 6'1"
Overall appearance: Lucas' hair, most of the time, is shaggy-like or straight. Sometimes it's fixed and sometimes it looks like he just got out of bed. But his hair isn't his most noticeable feature. What normally stands out about Lucas are his eyes and the striking clarity in them. They are the color of the ocean and the sky. He has an inverted triangle shaped face, enhancing his jaw line and has high cheekbones. His lips are pink and thin.
Lucas is tall, lean and has the body shape of a male model, well, at least a model that isn't too big and "bulky" but he does have some muscle around his long arms and legs.
Personality Strengths:
• Lighthearted. Lucas is very joyful and a happy individual. He is very content and carefree. He won't let anything get to him unless if it's something very important.
• Analytical. Taking situations apart and analyzing them closely in detail is what helps Lucas determine his stand in a situation. He tends to analyze a lot of things and that shapes his perspective in whatever situation but most of the time, it normally has to deal with life.
• Open-Minded. Lucas isn't the type of man to think he is right in EVERYTHING. He likes listening to what other people have to say about various topics and he respects those thoughts.
Personality Weaknesses:
• Direct. Sometimes Lucas is way too direct. He doesn't mean it in a bad way, however. It's just that sometimes he says things without thinking before and that can get him into trouble.
• Tolerant. Lucas tends to have too much tolerance, but that can be a huge weakness for him as people might take advantage of that.
• Determined. Lucas is very open minded to what people have to say, but when it comes to decisions, he is very determined to do what HE thinks is right. His stubbornness can be a major weakness as he will do things they way he sees fit.
Overall Personality: Overall, Lucas is a very care-free, light-hearted guy who cares about what other people think but is very determined to do things his way when an important situation comes up that mainly deals with him. He loves detail and when he talks he goes into detail. He can be very direct and that can pose as a problem and it's not that it is done intentionally it's just that he speaks before he thinks most of the time. His tolerance level is very high, but even though that can be used in a positive way, it can also be used as a negative way and therefore ends up being a weakness as people may take advantage of him because of it.
Character History: Lucas didn’t know his father much. All he knew about the man was that he was his “father” but this “father” was rarely ever there. His mother told him that his father worked a lot, which was why he was always absent. But Lucas knew the truth. He knew his father wasn’t “working”. But he didn’t care. He grew up without a father, but his mother was all he needed.
In elementary school, Lucas had a hard time learning. His mother worked most of the day and wasn’t there to help him on his homework. So he barely passed, putting in a lot of effort to learn the material as he went along. He had a few friends, but preferred to be alone majority of the time. In middle school, it was a bit easier with the “Tutoring Center” near the library. After school, he would go there to ask for help on his homework until his mother got off of work.
They would go out and eat almost every night. The other nights, they would order-in Chinese food or pizza and watch movies. He loved and cherished those moments.
In High School, it was much easier for Lucas to socialize and do better in his classes. Every time he didn’t understand something, all he had to do was e-mail his instructor or call a friend. He did better, though. Lucas graduated from High School with A’s and was accepted into California State University, Fresno to get his MA in English/Literature.
After he graduated but before he left to college that fall, Lucas’ mother was in a terrible accident involving 3 vehicles. She died instantly. During the funeral services, no one showed up but Lucas. They were alone. He was alone. He had no one in this world.
A month after his mother’s passing, Lucas went to college. But into the second week of classes, he got a letter…or more of an invitation to his father’s funeral. He had to inform his instructors that he wouldn’t be available for a few days and his instructors were fine with that.
So he took off to Meridian, Mississippi. He hauled a cab and gave him the address of the place where the funeral services were being held at. Lucas wasn’t exactly happy or anxious to see his dead father. He didn’t know this man, but he thought it was a good opportunity to close a chapter of his life that had never even started. He arrived at the funeral place, had gotten off and went inside.
That’s where he met Mallory, the only daughter of his father, Lucas’ half-sister. It was awkward, it was weird. So Lucas’ stayed until the burial which was the following day. After that, he departed. But Mallory had given him her place of residence, which was Port Angeles, Washington.
When Lucas came back to California, he finished his semester at CSUF, but he just couldn’t get over the fact that he wasn’t alone. So after the fall semester, he decided to move to Seattle, WA., so he can attend Seattle Pacific University and so he could become closer to his half-sister he never knew existed.
Power: none.
Anything else about your charrie we need to know?: nope.
Roleplay Sample:
Lucas sat the corner of his bed, lost in thought. The whole thing of his father and mother passing and finding out he had a half-sister. It seemed to all make sense in a way. One way or another his mother was his “mistress” or his half-sisters mother was the “mistress”. He never really knew if his mother had married his father. Woah hold on…I’m older. So dad cheated on mom. Lucas was furious at the conclusion he had just thought of. He sighed and fell back against his bed, bringing his hands up to his head. Whatever. The past is the past. Mom’s dead and so is that son of a bitch. He gave a silent thanks to his mother who managed to put up with all the crap she had to go through.
He got up and walked over to the window. Outside he could see water pouring from the sky, the dark clouds heavy with rain blocking the sun and the endless forest far-away creating a fence between the next city. Seattle. Washington. It was so different than California where the sun shown all day during the summer. It was going to be a while getting used to Seattle, but it was easy for Lucas to adapt to new changes.
Sooner or later, Lucas came to terms that he was going to have to call Mallory. It had been, what, 5 months since his father’s funeral? Reaching into his phone, he pulled out the shiny, slim touch-screen phone and searched for Mallory’s cell phone number in his directory. A few seconds later, the phone was against his ear and he was listening to the ringing on the other line. If she doesn’t answer, I’m going to have to leave a message. What am I going to say? And sure enough, he had to leave a message. He waited until the Mallory’s voicemail box message was over and then began to speak after the beep. ”Uh, hey, Mallory…it’s me, Lucas…your half-brother. Uh, listen, I was thinking maybe we can hang out sometime…I mean I don’t know you or the type of person you are, but I’m sure we can get along or something. Uh…call me back. Thanks.”
He ended the call, wondering when and if he was going to get a call back.
